Colorado Real Estate Appraisers

  • To renew your Real Estate Appraiser License in the state of Colorado, you are required to complete 42 hours of continuing hours every 3 years.
    • Registered Appraisers must complete 42 hours of continuing education every 3 years. Every 2 years, 7 hours of USPAP updates must be completed.
    • Licensed Appraisers must complete 42 hours of continuing education every 3 years. Every 2 years, 7 hours of USPAP updates must be completed.
    • Certified Residential Appraisers must complete 42 hours of continuing education every 3 years. Every 2 years, 7 hours of USPAP updates must be completed.
    • Certified General Appraisers must complete 42 hours of continuing education every 3 years. Every 2 years, 7 hours of USPAP updates must be completed.
  • Real Estate Appraiser Licenses expire every three years. Continuing education must be completed prior to expiration.
  • If licensees are issued their license, registration, or certification in the same year as the expiration they are exempt from continuing education requirements for that renewal cycle.
  • Certificate of completion does not need to be submitted to the Board unless requested. Licensees are responsible for maintaining verification of continuing education completion for a minimum of four years.
